Finally! Several months after the first engine runs on ground the Niger Air Force C130 made a 3h45 test flight with the callsign "BAF684" (yes, a Belgian Air Force callsign, a Nigerien Air Force plane and a US Air Force registration). The aircraft was not visible on Flightradar24 or ADS-B which made it impossible to get a view on when it would be returning. Around 12h15 I arrived at runway 25R, not knowing that I would be waiting there for 3h30 in +30°C... Around 15h40 I finally heared the familiar sound of the C130 and a few moments later I got the first glimpse of the aircraft coming in low for a visual approach for 25R. It was definitely worth the waiting! The aircraft flew for the US Air Force before being handed over to Sabena Aerospace in September 2018 where it went into heavy maintenance. It will now fly for the Nigerien Air Force with the registration 5U-MTU.
